Other CISOs say we made very weird choices in our Cyber Security. Of course we did!

March 19, 14:30 (GARDEN)

When you are in the media business, have a micro-team, no external support and the largest website in Switzerland, having a creative Cyber Security is a must.

We do really think about what makes our security better as opposed to compliant or following very old dogmas.

It looks weird to very formal CISOs that we are able to just ignore some large parts of Cyber Security but still can be good at protecting our businesses

Come and see what we ditched and why.

Olivier Martinet

Olivier Martinet, after studying Latin & Computer Science, spent a long time at HP Europe being a specialist in Unix performance, kernel & clusters. He then branched out being a Chief Visionary at the HP Innovation Centers Worldwide, created in 1999, advocating the use of technology with some crazy physical mockups in more than 500 workshops done with C-Level customers from all over the world and all industries.

He joined TX Group in 2014, to be an Enterprise Architect in the Infrastructure team.

As no one cared at all about security there and then, his boss asked him to dedicate 20 percent of his time checking if security could be a topic. And it certainly could as it was so bad.

After a major attack and with the support of the top management and a very creative CISO, he was able to help completely flip security at TX Group and turn it into a world-class security with some very unconventional approaches.

He currently acts since April 2022 as the Group CISO at TX Group (formerly known as Tamedia AG) Switzerland’s largest private media company, progressing Cyber Security to become more agile, more user focused and embed security by design into digital products.
